Executive Bios

Kieran Donovan is the CEO and founder of k-ID. In his role, Kieran uses his decade of experience working at the frontier of data protection and online safety regulation to manage the company and technology overall.  The only person to have ever been named Privacy Lawyer of the Year multiple times, Kieran has advised some of the world’s most well-known online platforms on how to architect solutions to efficiently navigate emerging regulatory challenges across the world.  Kieran has been featured in major press including Forbes, Bloomberg, TechCrunch, and VentureBeat, has appeared on popular podcasts including Deconstructor of Fun and Naavik Gaming, and has been recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer for 2024, as well as winning recognition from Law.com, Chambers, Legal 500, Asian Legal Business (ALB).

A founding member of k-ID, Timothy Ma leads k-ID’s legal and regulatory direction, supporting its mission to democratize access to age-appropriate experiences online by making it easier for developers to navigate the complex global landscape.

With a passion for child online safety, Timothy has been a vocal advocate at global forums and co-founded k-ID to promote a safe and secure digital space for youth. His distinguished career, marked by roles at top US law firms and Tencent, underscores his commitment to privacy rights, ethical business, protecting young internet users, and inspiring others in law and technology.

Prior to founding k-ID, Timothy rose through the ranks at Tencent to become Head of International Privacy and Data Protection. Timothy has played a significant role in shaping data privacy policies and maintaining the integrity and legality of services on an international scale. He and his teams have been recognized by renowned industry legal organizations such as Legal 500, Financial Times, and Asian Legal Business, highlighting their significant contributions under his leadership. Timothy also serves as a board member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Asia Advisory Board.

Jeff Wu serves as the Chief Safety Officer for k-ID, a new technology transforming how kids and teens access age-appropriate experiences. Jeff works with government agencies and safety organizations to support k-ID in providing age-appropriate and region-specific feature access in more than 200 markets around the world as well as building out the Family Platform product. 

Jeff brings almost two decades of experience in Trust & Safety, Government Outreach, and Investigations at top technology companies, including pre-IPO hyper growth stages at both Meta Platforms and Google Inc. He has been recognized for his ability to develop government relationships and drive impactful solutions to combat online abuse while delicately balancing community safety and user privacy on a global scale, including his team receiving the prestigious FBI Director’s Award for Excellence in International Operations in 2019.

In addition to his role at k-ID, Jeff serves as a community leader in his role as the District Councillor for the North West Community Development Council in Singapore, and was a former Council Member on the National Crime Prevention Council of Singapore.

Julian Corbett is a co-founder and the Chief Growth Officer of k-ID, the new market standard for enabling age-appropriate and regulatory compliant game experiences for kids and teens.  Julian uses his extensive experience in leadership in the tech and gaming industry to manage the company’s partnerships, strategy and revenue functions.

Before joining k-ID, Julian worked at leading gaming and tech companies and was at the forefront of many of the industry’s most significant evolutions. He was at the birth of CGI animation at Medialab and then of mobile games at In-Fusio, securing the first large mobile game licensing deals for titles like Age of Empires and Neopets. He was at the inception of RealD 3D that went IPO on NYSE in 2010. 

Julian also spent 15 years in Asia, where he headed Take-Two Interactive publishing in APAC and fueled a massive regional growth during his tenure for 2K Games and Rockstar titles.  As President of Voodoo Interactive in APAC, Julian was part of the team that took the company to Unicorn status. He then went on to be a founding member of Tencent Venture Labs, the post-investment support arm of the world’s largest video game company.

Chief Corporate Affairs Officer to k-ID, Luc Delany, works with policy makers, regulators and top safety organizations, to advance the company’s mission worldwide. Luc is an internationally recognized public policy and regulatory affairs expert for the technology and video games industries. He has spent 20 years working internationally with the world’s leading technology and gaming companies as a strategic advisor, both in-house at Google and Meta, and through his advisory firm, Delany & Co, established in 2013. Luc believes so passionately in k-ID’s mission he left his own firm to join k-ID. He has been a leader in the gaming industry for over a decade, through his roles as CEO of the International Social Games Association (ISGA) and Chair of the Mobile Games Intelligence Forum (MGIF), both of which play key roles in regulatory development for online video games.

Throughout his career, Luc has spoken and given testimony in Parliaments and in regulatory hearings around the world. He is a media commentator, regularly appearing on TV, Radio and in print.

Aakash Mandhar serves as the Chief Technology Officer for k-ID, one of the most robust gaming compliance resources and toolset designed to make regulations easy to integrate at the developer level. As CTO, Aakash oversees the development and distribution of k-IDs suite of tools, including its global compliance engine, global compliance database and family platform.

Aakash is a seasoned technology leader with over 20 years of experience building high-performing teams and SaaS offerings that serve millions of simultaneous users. Prior to joining k-ID, he worked at Hewlett Packard, Yahoo!, Microsoft, Electronic Arts and Immutable. At EA, he led the creation of the virtual economy platform, which, among other things, powered Apex Legends, the fastest growing Battle Royale Game in history, growing from 0 to 50M players in 4 weeks. The virtual economy platform was built on a massive scale, could handle 300,000 requests per second, and powered 20+ titles at Electronic Arts.

Aakash’s primary job is being a loving husband and a father of two wonderful children, who also love to play video games. Ensuring families worldwide have age-appropriate and safe experiences in video games is his passion and personal calling.

Jeff Collins is proud to serve as Chief Customer Officer of k-ID, helping fulfill the mission to create safe and rewarding experiences for kids and teens while ensuring the success of our content creator partners.  Jeff brings a variety of experiences to k-ID, including a career as an engineer, a decade of scaled engineering leadership and most recently, business leadership as a general manager at Unity.

Before k-ID, Jeff led the engineering team of over 600 at Unity that managed its advertisement and online service products, and as general manager, led the launch of Unity Gaming Services in 2022.  Previous to Unity, as an engineering leader, Jeff has specialized in building online platforms at fintech companies like Intuit and Ellie Mae (now ICE), to community and collaboration platforms like Lithium Technologies (now Khoros).

Jeff is a continual learner about new technologies and loves to build great teams.  He is also an investor and advisor for startups in areas ranging from nuclear fusion commercialization to the next generation of AI-driven game services.  As an avid gamer and parent of grown children, Jeff is passionate about the k-ID mission having seen the enormous potential but also the risks facing kids online.
